Thursday 21st June - BMA Industrial Action20/06/2012
The British Medical Association (BMA) recently balloted its members to decide what action, if any, they should take over the Government’s proposed changes to the Doctor's pension scheme.
Nationally, doctors have voted to support a day of industrial action on Thursday 21st June. The BMA has asked its members to support the industrial action by dealing with urgent and emergency care cases only, with non-urgent cases being postponed.
We can confirm that the Churchill Medical Centre will be offering patients our normal service at all surgeries with our regular staff. This includes routine appointments that have been pre-booked for 21st June with our doctors and nursing team.
Whilst the Practice is not supporting the decision to take industrial action, we are supporting the decision of individual doctors to take action as they see fit, within the guidelines issues by the BMA.
If you have any questions or concerns about the planned action, then please do not hesitate to speak to a member of the management team.
